Last November 11, 2017 (4:30 AM), The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), together with the Philippine National Police’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), PNP-Light Reaction Unit (LRU), and operators from the Bureau of Corrections raided the facility of the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) at Mandaluyong.

The target for this operation is the “drug queen” known as Yu Yuk Lai who is behind the sale of shabu inside the correctional facility hidden inside party-liners.

Over 27 panty-liners embedded with shabu and varieties of drugs together with empty and unused capsules were recovered from Yu Yuk Lai’s jail cell.

The surveillance and undercover operations conducted inside the correctional facility by both PDEA and BITAG took one month. Three separate test buys done by a PDEA undercover agent were deemed successful.

At 7:00 AM, with the power of a Search Warrant, a simultaneous operation occurred near Malacañang in order to arrest her daughter, Diane Yu Uy, for providing the drugs to the facility.

They were suspicions by PDEA that Diane Yu Uy acts as an operator of the “drug queen” outside the jail. Diane is a supplier of sacked rice for the correctional facility at Mandaluyong which is acts a front for her drug exchanges with her mother. Thus, earning the “drug princess” monicker.

During the operation at Mandaluyong, the simultaneous operation took place as they were able to recover 2 kilos of shabu inside Diane Yu Uy’s residence. Both PDEA and the Presidential Security Group’s embedded military element investigated the involvement of a security detail that happens to be with the PNP’s Police Security and Presidential Group (PSPG).
